Traffic forecast and top 10 visibility
Estimated clicks (volume × CTR) and top 10 visibility (volume × position coefficient) — with no new API cost.
The traffic forecast and Top 10 visibility come from the tracked keywords: position + monthly volume. They do not call an external API and do not replace Search Console.
- Traffic forecast (KPI / dashboard)
- The sum of (volume × CTR by position) for phrases with volume. CTR is an industry curve (position 1 ≈ 31%, 2 ≈ 16% …; beyond the depth = 0). It answers: “how many clicks would we expect per month at these positions?”
- Forecast (column in Rankings)
- The same formula for a single keyword. Sort by Forecast to see which keywords carry the most potential — more useful than a bare % by position.
- Top 10 visibility (KPI / dashboard)
- 100 × Σ(volume × coeff.) / Σ(volume). The coefficient applies only in the top 10: positions 1–3 = 100%, 4 = 85%, 5 = 60%, 6–7 = 50%, 8–9 = 30%, 10 = 20%; 11+ = 0. It shows how “high” the high-volume keywords rank — it is not estimated clicks.
- ▲ / change
- Compared with the previous check of the same phrases.
- Movement
- Rose / dropped / unchanged compared with the previous check — a filter in Rankings.
Questions & answers
Why is the forecast different from GSC clicks?
The forecast is a model on the tracked list. GSC reports real clicks from all queries in Search Console.
Does a keyword outside the top 10 affect Visibility?
Yes — its coefficient is 0, but its volume goes into the denominator and pulls the % down. In the forecast, CTR beyond the depth is also 0.
Why can Visibility be ~1% and not ~30%?
The scale is 0–100% relative to a perfect top 1–3 for all keywords. If most high-volume keywords are outside the top 10, the % stays low — that is normal.
Why did the Visibility column disappear from the rankings table?
It was replaced by Forecast (volume × CTR) — the number is actionable: which keywords carry potential. Top 10 visibility stays in the KPI cards and on the dashboard, where it makes sense as a portfolio %.
